"If you build it….they will come" lol, sorry, had to say that, haha
You can also post different places that u would take any chickens anyone wanted to get rid of. Will it not get pretty hot in a completely tin building? Seems like it would get hot as an oven in there…guess if u see them lying listless fanning themselves outside u will know, hahaha

  12. kokonutbaby1 says:

God man, u seem to be having a bit of some very bad luck, lol..that’s awful and still u keep smiling and video taping…amazing!

Hey I have been watching your videos for a long time so far, been waiting for you to finish the coop! So nice, and much bigger, I’m amazed of what you did! thanks for sharing, also I’m doing the same for 4-H! wish me some luck, and you too!

    Nice!

Try and get some of your chicken feed free. atm I get lettuce from the local shop’s bins – I just ask them, bring my own bag & fill it up (the bin next to the lettuc section). You could possibly raise up some insects or worms and let them scratch & consider a rotating grazing system with sunflowers, leafy greens, grains and fruit trees – the messy ones that drop heaps of fruit for chickens:)

    ha ha ha ha…

Good one mate. Looks good! Hey why fence them off? I let mine run freerange and they all go in to roost at night and I just shut the door before bed.

  23. sadia102 says:

Will you have to be prepared for snake visits at night?

  24. sadia102 says:

Thinking of feeding the chooks…I was reading Jackie French’s book ‘Backyard Self Sufficiency’ talking about growing staples..wheat etc How the grain mix for chooks, the health food shops and the soup mixes and the like from supermarkets are good sources of grain to grow. Maybe you could throw a few tough seeds around like buckwheat, millet, rye or sunflower seeds from a packet of parrot food.

Are those bullet hole in the tin?

I’m not sure what kind of critters you have in OZ that will kill chickens at night, but I’m sure there must be a few. You might consider plugging the holes you have around the bottom of the coup or you will have break-ins.
