Any discussion of gardening without watering should probably include the topic of biochar, which has an amazing ability to increase the moisture-holding capacity of the soil.

@nickferg23 – It is right in the real presentation. I was jammed trying to get this out, did a fast replace all or something and put in a guys name vs a forest. It is right in the one for the show, on this version though it is either wrong or nothing for now.

Liked the video Jack, one thing though… Forest.. might want to change that spelling before the keynote. Huge fan of the show and everything you do for us as a community. Keep up the good work!

@redsnowsoldier – Well Sepp in particular is one of my real heroes and I get to meet him in May. I have learned much about terracing and hugelkultur from him and Paul Wheaton as well. Fukuoka I really haven’t looked into yet but no doubt he is a great figure in the industry.

  12. redsnowsoldier says:

This presentation makes me think of Sepp Hozler and Masanobu Fukuoka

@isabstmr – Really well, I am not sure how big the seed crop will be but it is definitely going to yield a lot more than I started with. It was clearly not the best way to grow them but I wanted to see how they would do and the results were decent.

  19. isabstmr says:

Very interesting! How are your tepary beans doing?

Cool presentation Jack! I’m hoping to make it to one of the events and see this in person. Thanks!
